BBC Follow up, for Corey...

It is sad when you can respond to peoples comments in the form of a BLOG, because there are so few...ha...well no pity for me.

The Beer book club is an idea that was told to me by Mike shook (CS and a six pack) but i decided to actually bring it to fruition. Plus we dont have to read CS lewis, even though he is a christian badass. Well anyway, I brought it up to Seaner, who was stoked. The premise is basically that we meet in a bar/pub closest thing to it, preferably not loud or party mentality, and discuss a cuurrent/common book we are all reading for example, we just finished "Velvet Elvis" by Rob Bell. We discuss it over a tasty beer or two. We set up some guidlines so things dont lose sight of what is important. What is most important you ask? Spurring us as Christians, to live the most authentic Christian lives as we can. We do this by reading, learning, disagreeing and refining Christian books so we can use each other to solidify what we have read. This is NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. Beer is just a benefit. The guidlines are simple:

1. DONT READ, DONT COME. (This isnt a hangout session)
2. 2 BEER MAXIMUM (we arent here to get drunk, and therefore disobey the bible, that would be backwards)
3. MISS ONLY ONE TIME, PER BOOK (this is a commitment, not a convenience)
4. NO NEW MEMBERS DURING A BOOK. (new people are welcome and encouraged, but must wait until the new book starts)

This has been amazing for the guys in it right now, we will prob be changing the meeting time sometime. And we meet at the GETAWAY CAFE in Riverside. The next book we will be reading is "UNCHRISTIAN" by David Kinnaman. SO if you are interested in coming please email me, and get reading if you want to come next wednesday. Chapters one and two.
