The busy season

So the highly anticipated "busy Season" at Mission Inn is upon us. This us the month and nine days of Festival of lights when we are supposed to be out of control busy and make tons of money in tips. This is also the time when all hell breaks loose and different departments (Banquets) steal all of our supplies. Last year, the money was good, it was stressful, but well worth it. Its funny because a lot of servers stay through the ups and downs of the restaurant just to work the "busy season."

My first thought on this Festival of lights season is that it was not worth it. By the first half an hour all of our ice tea glasses, coffee cups, and goose necked ramekins were missing. Also my managers put Zack and I in the makeshift lobby station, where nobody really wanted to sit. Basically, i dont have a good vibe about all of this. But I am really working on staying positive throughout my job at the Mission Inn. Because as much as I tell myself that i dont need this job, i kinda do. I am getting married, and the hope of a full time job seems distant. Post-graduation life is just what i expected. Trust. Thats what i need. Faith. Is also what i need. Obedience. This will help me get there. So yea i complain a lot, but once its out i usually know how to console myself and kick myself in my own butt. So until next time, come visit me tues-sat nights and sunday brunch at the mission inn restaurant (reservations are a good idea).
